WORLD PREMIERE - OFFICIAL COMPETITION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MONTREAL, September 3, 2003—The Gun, the only U.S. entry in the Official Competition at the Montreal World Film Festival, is written, edited and directed by the awarding winning, Los Angeles-based Russian director Vladimir Alenikov.
Smart, sexy dancer (Val Dillman) signs "Pow! Pow!" in The Gun at its world premiere September 3 at the Montreal World Film Festival at Place des Arts.
This powerful dramatic thriller documents a brief moment in the "life" of one gun and the people who must have it. Filmed in real time and shot in only fifteen takes (with no cuts) the complex choreography created by cinematographer Kirill Davidoff puts the audience in the middle of the action. Far more than a frantic dash through the seedy alleys and strip clubs of the San Fernando Valley, The Gun offers a journey through the minds of people so desperate in their pursuit of happiness that they are ready to kill for it.
For the first time in the history of the Montreal World Film Festival The Gun will be projected in HD 24P at both of the Theatre Maisonneuve screenings.
At the Montreal World Film Festival, The Gun unspools at:
§ Wednesday, Sept. 3, 9:00am; Parisien 3

§ Wednesday, Sept. 3, 7:30pm GALA SCREENING; Theatre Maisonneuve
